dusty room difficult heating
The check-in process felt a bit cold with staff that seemed indifferent. our room was quite dusty, immediately noticeable. i also had trouble adjusting the heating. I couldn't turn it off without staff assistance and some kind of wrench (why is that even necessary?).

historic charm and excellent service

helpful team great food smart rooms convenient parking
i found the team super helpful and the location great. the food was also very good, with excellent meals available throughout my stay. the rooms were smart, equipped with good quality biscuits, tea, and coffee. parking outside the room was a godsend (very convenient).
i noticed the room was quite cold when the heating was off, and there were no spare blankets. (it was a very minor inconvenience though).

early breakfast terrible mattress
the room was fine, nothing special really.
i found that early breakfast was not possible, they only start at 8am so i skipped it. the food service stops quite early at 7.30pm in the evenings. the mattress really was terrible and needs to be changed, one of my main complaints.
