poor soundproofing mushroomy smell
the spa was nice with a good sized pool. robes were provided and a fresh towel was available each time i used it.
the room was a little cold, so i had to turn the heat up. there wasn't much soundproofing, which i expected because of the building's style. at first, there was a strange mushroomy smell, but airing the room helped a bit. i noticed some guests had slippers, but i did not receive them.

modern bathroom ornate furnishings large swimming pool
The reception offered a very warm welcome. My room included modern bathroom. It also had ornate furnishings. The spa had a large swimming pool. I found the sauna and steam room very good. The gym was also well equipped.

generally nice stay

friendly staff amazing pool scenic location peeling wallpaper cool room hotel refurbishment
The staff were really friendly and approachable, especially the lady in reception and the bar man. the pool was amazing. It was warm, clean, and lovely for a swim! i appreciated the clean room and the quiet atmosphere of the hotel. it's set in a scenic location, perfect for a relaxed getaway (which is exactly what i needed!).
the room i had was a little dated. i noticed some peeling wallpaper, a shame. the radiator wasn't working, so the room felt a bit cool, a bit of a letdown on a chilly evening! i also found that the hotel is undergoing refurbishment.

Adequate stay in an old hotel

nice pool lovely spa hard bed dated wallpaper
The spa was lovely. It had a nice pool and a sauna. The hotel grounds were also acceptable, they offered space. The bar area provided space too.
The room felt dated. The wallpaper was peeling from the wall and bathroom was old. The heating wasnt on initially. It came on late at night. the bed felt hard and dipped in the middle. It seemed overused.
