the staff were attentive and professional, a detail i noted.

My room, a classic double room, lacked sufficient soundproofing. I could hear conversations and noise from adjacent rooms. this significantly detracted from the peace i expected. the breakfast service was slow. I waited over 30 minutes for my order on two separate mornings and the pastries were stale. I found this unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber.

our sage cottage room provided a luxurious country feel. my wife and daughter especially liked the extra large bathroom and luxury products. even our dogs received baskets filled with treats and blankets. the grounds proved very excellent, offering an added treat to walk around. i found a gem in the heart of the pembroke countryside.

there are no real paths around except one, requiring guests to go out for a proper dog walk.

the hotel is situated in deep countryside, away from the town (it is very peaceful). beautifully maintained grounds provide tables and seats under flowering trees. this setup is ideal when the weather is warm and cute for a relaxing time outdoors.

A staff member greeted and helped us upon arrival, a very nice touch. there is no formal reception. Instead, you enter a grand country house. i noticed really good service in panelled lounges.

The cost for the three nights felt far too much. i saw the same rooms were offered for almost half the price the next week. also, i couldn't reach anyone by phone. It always went to voicemail without a call back. i expected better for that money.
