simple sea stay

helpful staffsea glimpselate checkoutslippery steps
my room faced the front of the building, it had a glimpse of the sea through the trees. carolina contacted me before my stay, she even allowed a late checkout by an hour.
the slippery marble steps at the entrance needed extra caution, especially in wet weather. the handrail outside the steps felt loose, i couldn't fully rely on it for support. this made entering and exiting the building a bit uneasy.
Dining
8/10
the breakfast restaurant requires quite a walk from the rooms, it is located in a separate building. breakfast cost an additional £10. the tea and coffee provided in the room felt basic, with inexpensive biscuits included.
Service
9/10
staff were lovely and provided good service. carolina contacted me before arrival to confirm details, she also arranged a slightly later check out. the receptionist even offered assistance with my luggage up to the second floor.
Location
10/10
the location is quite central to the beach, pier and bars. many restaurants are within a 5 minute walk. the railway station is accessible via a short taxi ride.
Rooms
8/10
the room was clean and warm, it faced the front. tea and coffee making facilities were in the room, there was also a hairdryer and a fan. the double bed was a bit small.

My 'Superior Double Room' overlooked some residential flats. I felt a bit like i was in a cupboard. There were loads of cigarette butts right outside the window. Plus, i noticed a very noisy overspill when other guests showered.

Great Location and Clean Rooms

I found the location excellent near the Southsea common and promenade. Some excellent bars and restaurants were only a short walk away. The rooms were clean and spacious which I liked. I also thought it was excellent value for money.
