underwhelming christmas lunch

attentive teamover cooked dishchristmas feel

the team was very attentive.

i went for christmas day lunch and expected much more. the main dish seemed sparse and over cooked. for the cost, i would have expected the vegetables to be served separately, to add a christmas feel. it seemed like a sunday pub lunch. the restaurant lacked a christmas feel.

the architecture of the building has been restored well and is beautiful.

i booked a room expecting a lovely experience, but the service fell short. the 'cocktail bar' was overwhelmed by a private party and i felt unwelcome. pre-made cocktails in a bottle were disappointing too.

The grounds feature well-kept gardens. I especially enjoyed the ornamental crocodile near the pond. my superior king room offered crisp white sheets and quality toiletries. the built-in wardrobes were a good touch. the mood lighting provided a romantic ambiance!
