historic charm with a modern twist

modern showercomfortable beddisruptive noise
the room's amenities included a modern shower (it was quite refreshing!) and comfortable bed. i appreciated the room's historic decor, that complemented the building's character.
i found the early morning bin collection to be disruptive due to noise. the location of my room, overlooked a public walkway, also contributed to the noise levels, that detracted from the otherwise peaceful stay.
Dining
9/10
the hotel restaurant featured a dining room steeped in history and offered an excellent menu. breakfast service included a minimal full english breakfast, while also providing a good variety of other options. the bar offered a nice atmosphere.

Wonderful stay, top marks!

cask beerrespectful staffhuge bathroomsmoking area
This was my best experience. The staff were courteous and cute (i really was like i was home). My room had a huge bathroom. Breakfast included a great bar that served cask beer.
Room 122, above the smoking area, was not ideal. I was not advised about a wedding. The loud music stopped after a call to reception. I probably won't return for that reason.
Rooms
9/10
The room featured individual climate control, great for keeping the temperature consistent. It also had blackout curtains, which really helped in blocking out light. A tv with cable channels was also included.
Facilities
9/10
There is free wifi access available throughout the building, which worked well. The hotel provides daily housekeeping to ensure cleanliness. I appreciated the on-site parking with ample spaces for cars.
Service
10/10
The reception staff were available 24 hours a day. The concierge service assisted with local information and bookings. Daily housekeeping ensured a very clean and orderly environment, i really appreciate this.
Dining
9/10
The hotel restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. A full english breakfast is available each morning (especially the sausages!). The bar offers a selection of beers, wines, and cocktails.
Location
10/10
The hotel is centrally located near major attractions and shops. It is a short walk to the theatre and historical sites. Public transportation is readily accessible nearby.
