The grounds surrounding the hotel were extensive. a path led directly to the nearby town. the breakfast offered a good range of options. the dining room had lovely christmas decorations. I found that charming.

The boiler had issues . Warm water was limited. i had to boil kettles for a bath which wasn't ideal. the swimming pool temperature was also affected. The sauna was not working, disappointing.

the staff was very helpful especially pam on reception. ebony also provided excellent breakfast service. they both were really helpful with my dog luna. i will definitely return in the future.

the hotel looks grand from the outside, but some aspects of the interior feels a little outdated.

the building itself felt grand.

The receptionist i encountered seemed quite miserable, and it really did spoil my stay. i asked about the prices for room service, and was told they were the same as online, but i was overcharged at checkout. the receptionist just kept repeating that the menu hadn't been updated online. There was no apology or offer to investigate it further.
