the food quality was disappointing. my fish and chips were subpar, especially considering the price i paid. the chips tasted like basic supermarket frozen ones. also, i encountered a noticeable sewage smell near the beer garden tables (it was quite off-putting).

i stayed two nights. grounds were large and extended down to the lake. breakfast was excellent, and the lunch was good. the room size was adequate. the bathroom lacked towel placement. the radiator in the bathroom did not work.

the cask beers tasted a bit sour, but the aspalls cider was good.

The location was wonderful, right by the lake. The hotel grounds included outdoor seating and tables that overlooked the lake. I also appreciated the easy walk to the village.

The room felt a little tired and could use some attention. I found that the bed needed to be moved to fully access the wet room (it was quite spacious). This highlighted some lack of under-bed cleaning.
