a nice experience

The room was spacious and had a comfortable bed. i appreciated the free drink offered for opting out of room cleaning on the second day. the hotel is conveniently located within an eight minute walk to the village. A bus stop across the road provided frequent service to nearby towns. the convenience of the bus pass added to the positive experience.
i noticed a less-than-ideal aspect concerning parking, challenging due to pub visitors. i saw people using the carpark while visiting elsewhere. this required planning our return from sightseeing to avoid peak times and secure a space.

every staff member seemed helpful and sociable, providing excellent service throughout my stay. their friendliness created a cute atmosphere. i felt as though nothing was too much trouble for them, enhancing the overall visit.

The food tasted like home cooking and came out hot. The service was friendly. I really enjoyed that. I look forward to returning when I'm in the area again. The staff seemed very helpful.
Pillows felt hard as rocks. Made sleep difficult. I asked for softer ones, but the replacement pillows felt the same. I noticed limited vegetarian and vegan choices. The bar manager first said there were no specials, but I later saw a specials board with a veggie option.

parking was available early, helpful for my plans to hike the fells.
The staircase to the upper floors had freshly painted banisters and i got paint on my clothing. no staff offered assistance with this issue. breakfast felt disorganized and chaotic. Finding a table was difficult and the staff seemed indifferent.

Decent Stay with Some Disappointments

The narrow staircase to the upper floors had freshly painted banisters. Guests got paint on their hands and clothes at check-in. Staff offered no assistance or apology. Breakfast was a disorganized free-for-all and the staff seemed indifferent to guests.

the team was awesome, super friendly and helpful. our room had everything needed plus the most comfy beds i have ever slept on. i loved that there was a large variety of food to choose from at breakfast and the dinner menu was great.

the rooms were lovely and the decor was great i especially liked the comfy bed after a long day of hiking. the bathroom had both a bath and a shower and it was looked super fresh this added a touch of luxury to the stay.

My room was clean, light, and spacious, and that was lovely. The hotel has many cozy rooms with two bars, a nice addition to its charm.
I asked for a quiet room, but the noisy kitchen fan was right outside my window. One of the outer windows did not close properly, so the secondary glazing did not help. Finding somewhere to sit for a drink and food in the afternoon caused stress.
