good foodshabby roomdingy net curtains
the food served in the pub was good (i especially liked the pie).
my room was a bit shabby. the net curtains made it dark, and there was no view as it overlooked a flat roof courtyard. all the white wood shelving had marks and needed redecoration. i felt i expected more for the money i paid.

Fantastic stay!

helpful staffbeautiful groundswell appointed roomeasy access
The staff were helpful and cute. I needed a downstairs room, so they upgraded me. The grounds were beautiful and the rooms well appointed (the lighting could be improved, though!). My room was in a separate building, so I drove my car there for easy access.
The fire door slammed when closing. I was aware of this and tried not to disturb other occupants.

fantastic stay, a total win!

friendly staffgorgeous firespacious roomearly music
I secured a travelzoo deal and i felt seriously impressed (amazing value!). the staff were super friendly and so cute. the pub had a wonderful vibe with two gorgeous fires blazing, just what i needed. i had supper one evening, the food was so good! the portions were huge. I almost wished i had chosen the smaller plate. my room had gorgeous linens and pillows, it felt so luxurious. it had a small terrace that overlooked the river which was great.
the music from the bar filtered upstairs and started around 7:00 in the morning. it continued late into the evening, and it was past midnight before the hotel became quiet.
Facilities

the hotel features secret gardens and riverside access. the interior boasts well-thought-out decoration with visually pleasing details at every turn. there is a mini fridge stocked with fresh milk and chilled water, a thoughtful addition.

a decent stay

river locationquality foodtired areapub appearance
the location of the hotel near the river is beautiful. the grounds are lovely too. the restaurant served food of good quality.
the hotel appears like a pub with bedrooms to me and not a boutique hotel. everything except the bar area is tired. i did not like that.
