a mixed experience, but generally ok
excellent breakfasthelpful staffdirty roombroken thermostat
the breakfast was excellent, the best i have ever had. the staff were helpful and courteous.
the room was not cleaned once during our three-night stay despite our asking every day. the radiator in the room was dented and the thermostat was inoperable.

The room I had was not as clean as it should have been. The carpet looked old and tired (I was reluctant to walk barefoot). The bathroom was also disappointing. I expected a nice bath after a long drive, but it did not appear very clean, a real DOWNER.

the breakfast bar impressed me, particularly the selections of fruit and the fresh fruit salad. i found the setting beautiful and very relaxing. the staff was very approachable, and the atmosphere felt quite relaxed.
the room was slightly smaller than i initially expected.

The grounds are beautiful and the room was clean. The bed was also comfortable.
I found the experience disappointing. There were no subtitles on the TV, something my hearing-impaired wife needed. We found plates and bowls left in the corridor next to a room on Saturday and they were still there when we left on Monday. (I wish they had addressed this.)

A Pleasant Stay, Some Issues

We enjoyed the overall experience during our two-night stay. The staff was friendly in each part of the hotel and leisure club. The suite was spacious, and it included lots of coffee etc.. It was perfect after a long drive.
The hotel has grounds for golf, which we don't play. There was no consideration for residents who might want a walk in the grounds. We had no privacy in our room with nothing at the window, so golfers could look straight in unless we pulled the curtains.
