the staff were polite at both reception and in the restaurant. the car park was good, located to the rear of the building.
the stairs to get to the room were horrific. they were narrow, steep, and twisting. the room was at the front of the hotel so it was quite noisy.

The hotel has a charming atmosphere and a great location. the rooms were very nice and well appointed. The room and bathroom were super clean. secure free parking at the back of the hotel was available! just drive down the backstreet until i saw a sign for the hotel. It is farther than i thought.
The pillows seemed like rocks and were very uncomfortable, leading to poor sleep both nights. there was no stationary or pen in the room. the shower could be unsafe for elderly guests. It should have a nonslip surface.

The staff were kind. There was a good car park at the rear.
I was not pleased with breakfast. The eggs Benedict had borderline hard eggs. The hollandaise sauce was also very thick. I could have laid bricks with it. Nobody asked if I enjoyed my breakfast, even though I left some on my plate.
