early noise overpriced spa treatments

the grounds were beautiful (i even saw a squirrel!) and that was acceptable.

The room overlooked what i can only describe as a building site, and that was disappointing. i asked for a quiet room and the noise started very early in the morning. the spa treatments were also overpriced for what they were. I expected a bit more pampering for that amount of money.

Really good Wedding Venue

great tour detail perfection

Una provided a great tour! The staff demonstrated responsiveness. Every detail felt important! Una was accommodating. She made sure all small details were perfect. The team ensured our wedding day was beautiful.

I arrived on Easter Monday, a busy time! The receptionist stated the restaurant was full! I requested a dinner reservation via email though it was not noted. I had to carry my own bags to my room.

Dining

10/10

Breakfast was one of the best. It offered a wide selection. Items were cooked to order! The basement bistro served meals, and staff willingly brought it up to the bar because of winter weather.

Rooms

9/10

The room was spacious and luxurious! It included cozy seating in various areas! Decorations looked beautiful for Christmas, with log fires in several spots, though some areas seemed cold to me.

Location

8/10

The hotel has a marina! It gives fine views. The countryside is beautiful and provided calm. Peace and quiet reign supreme! though road noise could be heard in our room.

Facilities

9/10

There is a ramp at the front of the hotel for reception access! An accessible bathroom includes a walk-in shower. Staff provided an extra shower stool when requested! The leisure facilities were amazing.

sunset lake cruise vegetarian meal clean room receptionist issue chasing staff fridge absence

the sunset lake cruise provided a relaxing time i appreciated the amazing views. paula at reception arranged a vegetarian meal i found it very tasty. the room was clean and cute , made me happy.

the receptionist lacked compassion about a vending machine issue i found that upsetting. i had to chase staff for service in the cellar door bar that bothered me. the absence of a fridge was a disadvantage , made things inconvenient

beautiful decor lovely view pleasant staff incorrect keys no hot water poor handling

the decor in the hotel was beautiful. my room (a double room) had a lovely view. the staff were pleasant, especially those working in the bar.

Upon arrival, the bedroom keys didn't work correctly. there was no hot water in the room. That was an unpleasant surprise. i found the handling of this issue unsatisfactory. there was no follow-up or apology.
