the hotel grounds were quite excellent.
I found the vegetarian tasting menu disappointing, as it had fewer courses than the meat-based menu but cost the same. the portions felt far too small.

smaller portions less innovation
i found the vegetarian tasting menu disappointing it had one less course than the meat menu. the vegetarian options seemed less innovative with smaller portions. also there was no special butter served i think there should have been more attention to detail for vegetarians.

The location was very lovely. I found the grounds were meticulously maintained.
My biggest issue was the shower. The water temperature fluctuated wildly. It was nearly impossible to maintain a consistent, comfortable temperature, I was very frustrated.

My room was a beautiful king room balcony. it included a hairdryer and straighteners. binoculars. the lighting in the bathroom over the mirror was sufficient. i enjoyed the location near the exe estuary. Views from the garden are lovely. i appreciated the walks around the grounds and access to the coastal path. you can walk into town from there. but the gates are locked. so ask reception for the access code.
the pool seemed a bit cold to swim in. but the loungers nearby were comfy. there are changing facilities near the pool.
