fairytale retreat

easy check incalm atmosphereuncomfortable mattress

the staff welcomed us warmly and check in was easy. the accommodation was clean it also looked superb. the views on the lake had a gorgeous calm atmosphere. we plan to return and i would come again with no hesitation.

i found the mattress quite uncomfortable. the hotel looks worn and could use an upgrade. i noticed holes in the bathroom flooring also in the main kitchen area.

the location is fine and quiet especially compared to where we live. there are lots of places to visit if you drive with little pubs and villages nearby as well as a castle.

we found a chinese takeaway just ten minutes up the road next to the tesco supermarket. i liked they have pizza on thursdays, which everyone can have. the pizza was also really nice.

inadequate cutlerymissing seasonings

the cutlery situation was AWFUL there were only two of each utensil it made cooking a real headache. i also thought it was cheap not to include salt and pepper in a self catering lodge. they moved us to a dog friendly lodge for an extra £20 but there was no gate on the patio or dog bowls it was just a total hassle.

the lodges location was nice and secluded, and it did feel quiet.

the hot tub was far too hot, sitting above 40 degrees, and i was told i couldnt change any settings. the electric car charger wasnt working too, so i had to waste hours charging in mold. the outdoor seating consisted of one bench and a table that looked old.

dirty sheetfilthy bbq

the hot tub lid was full of bird muck when we arrived it wasn't very appealing. there was sand in the hot tub it was full of green flies. the bbq was filthy so i'm glad we didn't use it, it could have been cleaner! the sofa cushions weren't very clean and could have done with a wash. also the sheet on my double bed was dirty.
