The outdoor pools felt good, a very private experience. i liked the soft play area. My children enjoyed it very much. flo's cafe featured a good selection with really friendly staff. the breakfast buffet included a great selection. freshly made hot options, really lovely.
the sofa bed was under a bright green light, the light lit up the entire room. covering this light had clearly been attempted by prior guests.

the location is very convenient, it is only about a ten minute drive to thorpe park, perfect for a day trip. the grounds were wonderfully maintained and provided a peaceful backdrop. parking was easy and accessible.

heating issueno laptop policy
The second visit here was a bit worse. i eventually secured the room but could not book treatments beforehand. the room was in the newly refurbished lodge, yet the heat was unbearable with the thermostat reading 29.9 degrees at 11pm. also after 11am, i could not use my laptop in the grounds or hotel. There is a strict policy against it.

Underwhelming Stay, Issues with Room and Service
unacceptable heatnon-functional system
The room was unacceptably hot upon arrival. The thermostat read nearly 30 degrees Celsius. I reported this issue to reception. I discovered the in-room system was non-functional due to a lack of Wi-Fi. A subsequent "no laptop" policy prevented me from working on the premises and forced me to seek alternative accommodations off-site at considerable expense.

The staff were very nice. They couldn't do enough to accommodate us. we ate in the fox dining room and had the five-course spanish set menu. It was delicious. i also appreciate them providing milk in a bottle for hot drinks instead of uht cartons.
the woodland walk was closed . it was a bit disappointing i was not told this sooner. this should've been reflected in the price.

I found the grounds and building of the hotel magnificent. Recreation facilities were available for adults and children. Food was first rate, particularly for the large group I was with. The staff was always on point when required and nothing was too much trouble. They always actioned requests in a timely way and greeted me with a smile.
I found that the ev chargers were quite poor, and they have not received upgrades for years, making it challenging to park close to them when the hotel is busy.

our room opened onto a large green area. we had lunch there thanks to quick room service. a virtually private outdoor swimming pool was just around the corner. i liked that the hotel had plenty of space even with golfers, families and a wedding.
I noticed a very slight issue. One of the lights above the bathroom basin wasn't working, though this was a minor inconvenience.
