fantastic getaway!

rich history central location dining room bar area

The rooms are in a building with a past, which i find very interesting. the location is really great in the town. Everything is within walking distance! the dining room and bar area were so nice. i really enjoyed my stay here!

i noticed the decor seemed a bit worn, but that's honestly my only slight issue.

the room included crisp bed linen and was amply sized. two fans were available, and they were greatly appreciated, especially to cool down the room. the bed was very comfortable!!!

The staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. i felt very welcomed upon check-in, always a great start. they were particularly obliging. It's nice when staff are so attentive.

Breakfast offered nice choices and was served to your table! the breakfast was top notch with an excellent selection. I really enjoyed it. the pub offers a wide range of local ales. They were good.

The hotel is dog friendly, a big plus for pet owners. meg, my springer spaniel, felt very much at home. there's easy walking access to everything from the hotel. It's very convenient.

the staff were lovely. that's something.

The room was NOT clean. i found mould around the bathroom, unacceptable! the bed seemed like two singles pushed together. One side was too soft, the other rock hard. at that price, i expected better.

a tender northern escape

central location reserved parking

i found the location central with restaurants and lovely shops nearby, perfect for gentle explorations. the reserved parking space was great, our arrival was seamless. the suite was clean with a great layout. breakfast included a delicious offering.

i did notice that the lounge chair's leg came off easily when moved, and the coffee table's legs were loose. despite reporting it, no one addressed the issue . it meant we couldn't fully enjoy those pieces of furniture which was a slight inconvenience.

the location was very convenient to local shops. the breakfast options were plentiful, i enjoyed my avocado toast. the staff were helpful, even with a minor issue.

the room was warm, even with an average outdoor temperature. finding overnight parking proved tricky. the room only had decaf coffee available, which wasn't ideal.

The cooked breakfast was excellent. I appreciated the wide variety of menu choices available each morning. Prompt service WAS provided, the staff were friendly and helpful.

The room carpet seemed worn. It was completely worn through in the room and corridor. I also noticed if you have to almost block up the windows then it's time to install air CONDITIONING.

I found the staff very friendly. The breakfast offered a good choice.. It included freshly cooked items and decent-sized coffee cups.

Our room was above the kitchen. I noticed a constant drumming noise coming from the kitchen fans. I was told the description mentions possible noise, but it felt constant and disruptive.
