the room was cozy and very clean. it included tea and coffee making facilities. a complimentary sloe gin was a lovely extra touch. breakfast was superb with a wide variety of options served.

the lock on my door broke one night and i couldn't exit the room.

the receptionist greeted us with a warm smile near a fire. i found check-in effortless because of an advance email i received. it allowed me to complete everything online. during our stay, i visited alice holt forest and the devil's punch bowl. they both provided scenic and enjoyable walks.

I noticed a slight issue when i asked for coffees. It seemed the staff member was flustered. the morning time slot was adjusted, appearing more for staff convenience than guest experience.

The rooms were clean and the bed was comfy. I have to give them that.

the room was small (i was like i was in a cupboard). there was no wardrobe or even hangers. it's a bit much to charge that price for so little space.
