Wonderful Spa and Attentive Staff

fluffy towelattentive staffherbal teacomfortable lounger
I visited the spa one Saturday. The pool area was wonderful and I relaxed with herbal tea. My facial was excellent. The loungers were comfortable, the pool had a wonderful temperature and the towel was fluffy! I really appreciated the attentive staff.
The room was more functional than luxurious, but I can see it changing with a few design features.
Dining
9/10
I had dinner at the hotel and it tasted fantastic. Breakfast included eggs and sausages. I also noticed the availability of many tea types. It provided a good start to the day.
Facilities
9/10
I could see the spa had been upgraded. I saw wellies for muddy walks. I also saw a cupboard full of snacks at reception. I noted the availability of a swimming pool.
Location
10/10
The hotel allows direct access to countryside walks. I noticed the proximity to the village. The location made it easy to explore. I also observed various pubs, bakeries, and interesting shops nearby.

Wonderful Spa Break!

accessible spagreat breakfast optionshelpful stafflate check-in
I enjoyed the accessibility of the spa, sauna, and pool from the rooms. The breakfast was great with lots of options like Bircher muesli and nuts. The staff were helpful and friendly, always willing to go the extra mile (I especially appreciated the wine tastings!).
I found the check-in time to be late. A 4 PM check-in is not great if you want to enjoy the hotel amenities for a longer period on the arrival day.
Location
9/10
The location offers great walks directly from the hotel (the receptionist provided great recommendations). The hotel provides wellies to borrow and a muck room for muddy boots.
Dining
9/10
The breakfast buffet included cooked breakfast and continental options. The Bircher muesli yoghurt was a standout along with various nuts and seeds.
Service
10/10
The staff were very helpful and friendly. They often were really nice too assist guests. The welcome at reception was very warm, and a glass of wine was a nice touch.
Facilities
9/10
Spa facilities included a sauna and a pool accessible directly from guest rooms. The spa area looked new and immaculate with a seating area. The outdoor pool was heated to a comfortable temperature.
Rooms
9/10
The bedroom was nicely decorated, cosy, and clean (I really loved the comfy bed!). The hotel included additional touches like homemade shortbread hanging on our door. The bathroom was clean with an very nice shower.

mixed feelings about this hotel

nice locationslow servicethin steak
the location is pretty nice.
Our room lacked basic amenities like a place to hang damp coats. service in the restaurant was slow. Guests were repeatedly asking for menus and drink orders. the steak was thin, not what i expect for the price.
