warm welcome friendly staff freshly baked scones dirty windows bland canapés poor service

We received a warm welcome. Staff were attentive and friendly. They went out of their way to be helpful. Fresh scones and tea were offered. They were freshly baked. At dinner the canapés were wonderful. They included homemade brioche and sourdough with two types of butter.

Our room had dirty windows. They featured nose marks and hand prints on the inside. The outside was covered in dust. The tasting menu was poor. The canapés were bland. They made no attempt to engage or placate us.

underwhelming experience

cold dining area undercooked egg

the lack of a room booklet detailing wifi access was an oversight. the dining area felt uncomfortably cold throughout my meal. pre-dinner canapés were a letdown the coppa ham and olives lacked the expected quality. overall the experience felt strangely detached and sterile not matching the warm atmosphere i remembered from previous visits. breakfast wasn't perfect either my egg was significantly undercooked.
