dog-friendly paradise
dog treats comfortable bed
the team makes everything seamless. nothing is too much trouble. i especially appreciated the dog treats in the room, as well as the comfortable dog bed provided..
i did notice that the sitting room, despite improvements like new sofas, felt a bit dark. the room could use some fresh flowers or candles to make it more inviting during the day.

the twin room was immaculately cleaned each day and well-appointed. quality toiletries were provided. homemade shortbread biscuits and coffee and tea were replenished daily. a bottle of triple-filtered water from the hotel's own source was also provided.

i thoroughly enjoyed the food at the hotel. the breakfast was of the highest order, i especially enjoyed the eggs benedict. each dinner course was imaginatively presented. local produce was used, including homemade sourdough bread.

the hotel has a dog-friendly atmosphere. owners can dine with their pets in designated dining rooms for breakfast and dinner. sausages are even provided for dogs at breakfast. a large boot room includes fresh towels.

the hotel has a special boot room with unlimited towels. washing facilities were provided for your furry friend upon return from muddy walks. the general lounge is also dog friendly and includes log burners.

delicious food comfy room
i had a superior king room.. it was very well appointed and comfortable. the food was excellent and plentiful at every meal.
The efficiency of the staff was almost too much. It diluted the ability to fully relax.

The staff were friendly. That met my low expectations.
my 'superior king room' could only be described as aggressively average and the tv remote seemed to have a personal vendetta against changing channels. i nearly threw it at the wall but decided against it as that would probably have incurred extra charges.

mixed experience at riverside hotel
rickety furniture slippery steps
i was a bit let down by my room. the furniture felt old, and i had to go outside in the rain to get there. i requested a ground floor room because i have trouble walking, but there were slippery steps. the tv also did not work, a pity.

Mixed Experience at Riverside Hotel
inattentive staff dated room
The location near the river allowed for pleasant walks.
I found the service to be somewhat lacking. The staff did not seem particularly attentive (perhaps they were understaffed). the room looked a bit dated and could use some refurbishment.
