a nice stay
attentive staff friendly staff excellent reception friendly manager
the staff appear attentive and friendly. the reception area is understated but excellent. the food is some finest i tasted in a very long time. the general manager was friendly, visible, on hand to deal with queries. the whole team and hotel are excellent, wee could not recommend it enough.

the manor room features a comfortable king size bed and high quality linens. the bathroom include a separate rainfall shower and deep soaking tub. the room are equipped with modern amenities like a flat screen tv and wifi.

The staff were polite upon arrival. I settled into our lovely Manor Room. It was a bigger room than I expected, so I must have been upgraded. There was a four poster bed which was VERY comfortable. The bathroom was big with both a bath and a shower. Underfloor heating was another plus.
The tea and coffee available was the same as you'd get at any standard hotel. The food at Hywell Jones was underwhelming. It was a small dining room that served bland food, not matching its Michelin star rating.

a mixed stay with some letdowns.
limited menu tired decor
i wasn't thrilled about the dining situation. the room service menu felt pretty limited, especially since i had my furry friend with me. i really wanted a beef burger, but was told only a chicken burger was available via room service, that didnt make any sense to me. also, some parts of the hotel seemed to need some serious updating, the decor felt a bit tired.

friendly staff delicious food beautiful spa comfortable rooms
The staff was SUPER friendly and professional. They parked my car and took care of all my needs. The food from both restaurants was delicious. The grounds cover 500 acres and include a beautiful spa. I enjoyed the comfortable rooms and great service.
I found one TINY issue, there were no umbrellas outside, so it got too hot in the sun.

The setting is serene and offers ample space for refreshing walks. Lush grounds provide a green oasis, allowing guests to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life, something I REALLY needed.

Dinner at the Walled Garden restaurant had a great menu and a lovely atmosphere. The breakfast hosts deserve a mention for their attentiveness. They brought hot toast to accompany breakfast and ensured plenty of tea and coffee.

Excellent Stay at a Historic Estate
lovely gardens modern restaurant warm greeting delicious tart
I enjoyed lunch at the walled garden restaurant. The gardens featured lovely spring flowers. The restaurant looked modern. Staff greeted us warmly. I savored a delicious chocolate tart for pudding. My husband enjoyed his crumble. We also had a nice walk around the gardens.
I was slightly disappointed to find that the room did not have a converter, given the absence of USB ports.
