The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful, particularly emma. She remembered my room number and checked that i had everything i needed.

my room was not in the actual castle, but in a modern building adjacent to it. the decor felt very pretentious. the background music played during breakfast was really quite appalling and jarring, it did not match the setting.

i found the staff were very helpful. they were courteous and professional throughout the venue. the hotel was fabulous in terms of layout and cleanliness. the breakfast was very good with local produce and creativity shown on the menu.

The room was not in the castle. It was in a modern building nearby.

Dinner was served in the palm court style restaurant foveran's, a perfect fit for a quieter and more relaxed evening. the game pie was genuinely excellent and piping hot. Easily the highlight of the meal, i thought. wine pricing was sensible by hotel standards.

staff across reception, bar, and restaurant were confident and personable. they seemed happy to chat without being intrusive, and i really appreciated that. i felt the staff would do their best to meet any reasonable request.

The castle room was genuinely large and beautifully furnished, a real space to relax rather than just sleep, perfect. the en-suite included a walk-in shower with a proper rain head. quality toiletries and a flannel were provided. I found this a nice touch.

the hotel has a lovely setting. it is only 5 mins from a main road, so convenient as a stop-off, though the immediate surroundings felt very peaceful. car parking was near the reception with plenty of space, i noticed.
