The location includes a beautiful garden and an outdoor dining area. I loved the swimming pool. It has a great view of the mountains. The breakfast was excellent (especially the pastries!).
The hotel is old. I noticed the carpet and the furniture were dated. Drink and food orders took a very long time to arrive (on the first evening, drinks took over 30 minutes). The appetizer was served another 30 minutes later.

The breakfast had many options from a buffet or the menu. The food tasted great. I attended a conference at the hotel. The service was excellent. Staff were always available to assist. The setting is nice. I ate too much.

I stayed for a couple of nights close to uct. My son studies there. the grounds are lovely. the gym was a real plus. It had everything i needed! i was able to use the showers and lockers after checking out.

i stayed for a few nights to be near some local restaurants. the location allowed a short walk to dinner. the grounds were peaceful. i found the well-equipped gym to be a definite plus.
The spa appointments were completely booked. i wanted to use the spa but could not schedule anything. Maybe i will next time.

The really good welcome i received impressed me. i arrived early, yet they checked me in immediately. the staff were indeed stars. During a set-menu dinner, they adjusted every course for my dietary needs as if expecting it. i really appreciated that i never felt judged.

service issues affected my stay
slow servicelukewarm coffee
i had some issues . the service at the restaurant was quite slow, and it was hard to find staff when needed. also, the coffee i ordered was not prepared well it was lukewarm and not enjoyable. it was a disappointing experience especially considering my previous visits were better. the staff seemed more focused on chatting than attending to guests.
