The food was delicious. All staff members were friendly and helpful . The location worked perfectly for exploring the Northumberland coast and borders. Plenty of parking was available at the rear of the hotel.
The bar lady's initial abruptness made the first impression less cute, though the rest of my stay was pleasant.

useful dooraudible barlow hum
The room had a door that opened right into the car park. It was pretty useful when I brought in my bags.
I had some problems with the noise. The bar below was audible through the floor. I also heard sounds from outside near the windows. There was a low hum all the time too. It may have been from the boiler. I did not say anything to the staff, because I didn't want to move rooms again.
