Acceptable stay with some ISSUES

helpful staff friendly staff

The staff seemed friendly and helpful. It was useful the hotel was close to the train station.

The draft beer WASN'T good. I had to walk to another pub to get a better one I liked.

weak pressure road noise

i was pretty annoyed about a few things. the shower in my 'king room' had weak pressure. the flow was barely a trickle. also, the noise from the road outside kept me up most of the night. it really disrupted my sleep!

The staff was friendly and helpful, it was a plus.

The room required maintenance. The heating was not on when I arrived, the room felt chilly. The bathroom lacked heating. It also lacked a place to hang or dry towels (how am I supposed to manage?). The mattress felt tired.

Comfortable Room and Excellent Service

comfortable room excellent staff lovely breakfast

I was happy to find a comfortable room close to my destination. The staff took time to phone me and explain how to access the accommodation outside normal hours. This included leaving a key in my room. I arrived late, around 2 AM, but finding the message and my room was such a relief. The breakfast was lovely, it really made my morning, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The stairs to the rooms were steep and narrow.

The breakfast offered a good selection. This included fresh juice and various pastries. The restaurant also provided several options for dinner with locally sourced ingredients. Dietary restrictions were accommodated easily, good.
