The service at the main restaurant was not good, it was very slow (i waited 45 minutes for a glass of water). The staff seemed undertrained, which led to frequent order mistakes and delays. the lack of attention to detail was apparent with tables not properly set upon arrival. The experience left me wanting MUCH more from a hotel with such a good reputation.

the housekeeping staff, mohit and chandra, kept my room well-supplied. i had water, amenities, treats, and towels every day. i also received a lemon ginger drink each evening. it came in a silver teapot.

my room lacked a proper window. instead, it had an internal opening. this overlooked the hotel lobby area. the roman blind had to remain down, disappointing. there was also clanking from pipework when the next room used their bathroom.

the staff were attentive at the pool. pardeep was particularly helpful there. the hotel has beautiful artwork and old charm. my partner is a historical reenactor, so he was constantly looking at the pictures and medals in the bar.

our room had no natural window. it had an internal opening that looked down into the hotel lobby area. the roman blind needed to stay down the whole time. when next door used their bathroom there was continual clanking of pipe works at 5/6am.
