disappointing food, nice location

bland curryuncooked chicken
The food really let me down. i ordered the burmese curry, but it tasted quite bland. the chicken was a full breast, not cut up like i expected in a curry. my partner's burger had a lot of fat dripping out. He asked for it well done. we told the waitress the meal was tasteless and the chicken was hard to cut. She said the chef agreed and would learn from it. the bill came, and they refused to take my meal off, claiming the chef hadn't agreed, which ruined my birthday weekend :(

fantastic stay!

good selectionspacious roomcomfortable bedattentive manager
The breakfast included a very good cooked selection. My room was spacious and clean. the bed was comfortable. I slept well. the restaurant had lovely evening meals. I especially thank andrew, the restaurant manager. He was very attentive to all diners.
The mixed concept was unusual, it reminded me of a hotel with a pub atmosphere. the bar was popular with locals and non-guests. It became noisy. i prefer a quieter relaxing space apart from my room.

a fair stay, a bit unbalanced

evening mealsfriendly staffbreakfast selectionsoggy chipsbland fish
The room was very clean! the bed was comfy too. breakfast had a good selection of cooked options. my wife and i ate two lovely evening meals in the hotel restaurant. The staff was super friendly and efficient!
the fish and chips i ordered were disappointing. the chips were soggy! the fish tasted bland but the peas were fine. the tartar sauce tasted mainly of mayonnaise and did not impress. i won't be ordering that again.
