charming stay

The sunday lunch was one of the best i've ever tasted, with thick, tender slices of beef. homemade roast potatoes and yorkshire pudding were also delicious (i enjoyed them very much). on another evening, i had the homemade steak pie served with chips and red cabbage. The gravy was rich. the staff were friendly and helpful. They accommodated my late arrival and arranged for me to eat in the restaurant.
the room lacked a proper wardrobe, only having a rail against the outside wall.

i did not like that one of the towels had a small stain.

The room was clean and furnished tastefully. I found a good supply of tea and coffee, and the mugs were of a great size. (I need a lot of coffee in the morning!)
My bathroom was very small. I noticed there was no wardrobe, only a few hangers on a wall rack (a bit inconvenient for a longer stay).

The bar and restaurant were appealing. The staff was friendly and efficient. There was plenty of parking when I arrived. I think it could be busy on weekend evenings.
The bathroom had a noticeable smell. The room was still cleaned after I asked for it to be skipped. The door was left unlocked afterwards. I only stayed for two nights.
