Mediocre service overshadows potential.

disorganized staff check-out issues

The room was clean and reasonably comfortable.

I had to ask multiple times for breakfast toast, and staff seemed disorganized. No one acknowledged me at the front desk when I tried to check out, forcing me to ring the bell to get assistance it was quite frustrating.

the shower waste smelled bad it seemed it hadn't been used for a while i think the food was average for the price the meals did not impress me

Service issues detract from potential

inattentive staff lacking communication

The room (Arkwright) was spacious. and had unique period touches.

The staff were not attentive. I waited to be seated for breakfast, and several staff members passed me without acknowledgement. I had to ask if I could seat myself. Communication seems lacking.

spacious room walk-in shower garden view plain glass inedible lamb missing gravy

The arkwright suite was a great choice. The room was very spacious. the en-suite included both a bath and a walk-in shower. i particularly enjoyed the views across the gardens from the room.

I ordered a glass of cold lager when i arrived. It was served in a plain pint glass. my friend's meal was inedible, and the lamb had to be removed. she expected potatoes and gravy with the vegetables but did not get them.

Average stay, some issues noticed

noisy taps creaky floorboards

The bedroom was very clean upon arrival (a basic requirement).

The taps in nearby rooms were quite noisy at night. Floorboards above creaked constantly. This made sleep difficult.

comfortable bed hotel restaurant sized portion

i stayed in the cottage it included a lounge, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. the king sized bed was comfortable, too. the hotel restaurant had great sized portions, i really liked the chicken tacos.

check out felt a bit rushed because it was by 10:30 am
