Charming stay at a former abbey
beautiful grounds helpful staff early breakfast comfortable bed
The abbey grounds and building are beautiful. All staff members were fantastic and quite helpful. They helped me arrange an early breakfast via room service, and it was very good. The double bed was very comfortable.
The website contained slightly misleading information regarding available facilities.

George's bar provides a good place to sit and relax. The abbey itself presents an interesting history. I enjoyed looking around to see the historical parts. The hotel has grounds to explore (both inside and out).

helpful staff unique design interesting grounds
i appreciated the helpfulness of all the staff. the hotel's design is quite unique, formerly a convent, and includes its own church. i also enjoyed exploring the interesting grounds, complete with a pond and a two-seater swing.

hotel grounds three-course meal hotel upgrade high price special occasion misleading website
The deal included champagne, afternoon tea, and a three-course meal. The hotel upgraded us to a suite with a balcony overlooking the grounds. The restaurant menu impressed me. The venison main course was tasty and melted in the mouth.
I thought there may have been a small cake and candle, as it was a special occasion. The cost for two wines with a lemonade dash was extremley priced. The website does not include details about the facilities that are available.

My stay wasn't great. The promised gym was nowhere to be found. I felt mislead because the website advertised a gym but there was no gym here. the hotel bar was closed during the week, so I had to find another place for a drink. This was irritating. It's like, why advertise amenities that aren't available?

The staff was kind and helpful. Olivia at reception deserves special recognition. i greatly appreciated the upgrade i received. the shower was amazing and provided a very refreshing experience.
The website misled me about the available facilities. There was no gym open during the week.

The room temperature was ideal so I was neither too hot nor too cold
The website provided misleading information about available facilities I found no gym and no hotel bar open for use during the week It limited my options for relaxation and recreation I expected these amenities to be available and their absence was a significant disappointment
