Wonderful Stay at a Historic Gem

The Delft Suit was beautiful with twin beds and a shower room. The vaulted ceiling with its blue glass chandelier was really excellent (it's like stepping back in time!). I especially liked the open fire that conceals a former priest hole. The room had interesting cherub pictures and historical tapestry too.

The entrance to the hotel was unclear because of the lack of signage. It made finding my way a bit tricky upon arrival.

The building boasts a wood-panelled entrance hall and inviting lounges, offering many spaces to relax. Gardens provide access to the canal, perfect for a scenic walk, which I really appreciated. There is also convenient off-road parking available .

the building has a really lovely structure with great rooms. the room had period-appropriate furniture i really appreciated. pubs restaurants and shops were all within easy reach.

the hotel seemed to be in decline. armchairs in the room were in poor condition. the tv and general furnishing were of poor quality.

the period styling throughout the house was acceptable.

The breakfast situation was not ideal. It started at 8am, precisely when i needed to leave, resulting in no breakfast. the bed wasn't particularly comfortable either, and the pillows felt rather lumpy. it all felt less than cute, maybe the receptionist was just keen to clock off.

the wifi did not work at all throughout the hotel. the rooms are tired and not well maintained. there is no bar at the hotel.
