mixed feelings about the room.
awful smell dated room
the staff was attentive.
the room felt quite dated and scruffy. the smell near the entrance was just awful. it was not what i expected.

excellent dog-friendly stay
comfortable bed great shower subtle decor
we had a superior room with a comfortable bed and chairs. there were lots of surfaces for personal items and a great shower. decor was interesting and beautiful, with subtle and neutral colors.
Breakfast was a little inconsistent. The hotel sometimes abandoned the buffet when guest numbers were low.

The breakfast staff remembered preferences. housekeeping refreshed the room daily. They noticed i used oat milk and left a jug of it in the fridge. the staff were friendly and approachable.

really good kindness attentive staff daily refreshment
Ellie at check-in was kind. She, and I really appreciated her attentiveness. The breakfast staff remembered my preferences each morning, and nothing seemed too much trouble for them, how lovely!
The minibar had tonic water but lacked a bottle opener, slightly inconvenient

professional staff daily housekeeping oat milk
The staff were professional. Ellie was kind when i checked in, and i especially mention her because the other receptionists were lovely. Housekeeping refreshed the room daily. It was the best i have experienced. They noticed i had oat milk instead of cows milk and left a little jug in the fridge with oat milk.
The outside of the building has some grime. Algae has built up noticeably on the hall and the pavilion. The grime on the entrance gave a bad first impression.
