a dreamy journey back in time
innovative decor kerala dishes enthusiastic staff
i enjoyed the ambiance. the color combinations and decor were so innovative. i appreciated that the traditional kerala dishes were delicious. the staff were enthusiastic.
the buffet breakfast included a range of indian and western options. it was not amazing. i was hoping for a cocktail but there are no spirits available.

the pool was clean. it was well maintained despite the monsoon. there were many places to sit around the pool to relax in a pleasant environment with fresh air.

the staff provided collection from the train station. they arranged a drop-off at the airport at the end of the stay. the chauffeur was polite and pleasant making transportation simple.

excessively loud music small pool
i found that this hotel promises more than it delivered. the music near the pool was excessively loud. this incessant noise infiltrated the rooms, disrupting what i expect is peaceful. the small pool also offered inadequate shade. this lack of shade made it difficUlt to relax during the day.

underwhelming experience
unpleasant smell lacking hospitality
the room was a letdown it felt overpriced for what it offered. the filtered water in the room had an unpleasant smell i found that quite off-putting. i also noticed a lot of outside noise seeping into the room , made it difficult to relax fully the staff seemed stretched thin due to the large number of tour groups and personalized service was lacking it felt more like a factory customer service.

foul odor basic range
The front desk manager, chacko, greeted me warmly upon arrival. This.
The breakfast buffet lacked excellent options. It was quite basic, and nothing stood out (i expected more). i also noticed a foul odor in the bathroom, likely stemming from the drain. It was quite off-putting.

historical charm, great staff
hotel appreciation wonderful staff
this building is beautiful with a lot of history. the staff explained it to us upon arrival, giving a great appreciation for the hotel . the staff are wonderful and can't do enough for you. the rooms are lovely (especially the imperial superior room).
The hotel itself was good, but overpriced. there was a ton of outside commotion in the room. a little white noise on phone made it okay to sleep.

breakfast was tasty and offered a good selection of indian and english food. afternoon traditional tea and snacks was a bonus, available each day by the poolside. dinner one night was very good (i tried the local fish).

the staff were all great and attentive. they helped us with everything we needed. the organised tour in the morning was informative and enjoyable. i found this a lovely touch to understand the history of this area.

the room was very clean, comfortable, and had a good air conditioner and fan. i appreciated the vibrant yellow walls and decor (they are very instagrammable). the bed was comfortable and i slept very well.

the pool and all common spaces are fantastic. the hotel has a historic tour included in the package. the hotel also offers an ayurvedic massage (i found it much needed after travelling).
