the grounds are very enticing for a walk. the staff were helpful and assisted me with my queries. the bedroom was super clean and i liked the decor. the rooms were surprisingly spacious and warm.
breakfast wasn't very hot. the hash browns seemed overcooked and quite hard. i had booked a late checkout, but i struggled to get back into my room. i had about four attempts to get the key recoded, all failed, but i was eventually given a master key.

Decent Stay with Minor Issues

beautiful groundsgood locationvegetarian choicesmissing slipperspaint markslumpy mattress
The hotel grounds are beautiful and feel secluded. The location provides good access to nearby towns. I found the lunch and breakfast options quite good, with decent vegetarian choices available.
My room lacked slippers and a bathrobe (despite the hotel's claimed star rating). The furniture had visible paint marks. I found the bed had a lumpy mattress topper, and the pillows were too hard for my liking.

mixed feelings about my stay

dirty dishes
the staff needs more training, the breakfast waitress didn't ask everyone what they wanted to drink. by the time i finished my meal, there was a pile of cutlery and dirty dishes on the table and nobody bothered to remove them. it was not busy, so i cannot understand why this happened.

A Stay with Some Misses

poor servicetired bedding
My stay had some hiccups. The breakfast waitress seemed to have forgotten basic service manners. She didn't bother asking everyone at our table what they wanted to drink, and used cutlery piled up until the end. during checkout, the receptionist showed no interest in my experience and informed me of an additional charge. I expect better from a supposed 4-star hotel.

the grounds are expansive.
I found several problems. breakfast service felt disorganized as staff didn't promptly offer drinks. checkout lacked any inquiry about my stay. I only received notice of an extra charge. the lack of attention to detail, like bright led lighting in the bathroom, was disappointing.
