historical stay
wood furniture azulejo tile historical scenes
The palace showed off its architecture. i liked the mahogany wood furniture. i also noticed the azulejo tile scenes. It added to the experience.
The bathroom needed some upgrades. it felt a bit obsolete by modern standards. Though i understand it's an old palace.

The setting provided many historic sites for exploration. the surrounding park offered ideal opportunities for hiking. Many trails were available for discovering natural beauty.

The staff seemed very nice and helpful. the front office clerk, ana, was professional and friendly. She was great, though her name was not ana.

excellent service breakfast buffet walking paths great bar
The staff provided excellent service and were always available. The breakfast buffet included fresh fruit and pastries. The walking paths and gardens surrounding the hotel gave opportunities for exploration. I especially enjoyed the bar. It was great.
The older furniture showed some wear.

The dining room offers a beautiful setting. It includes large windows and ornate décor. Breakfast featured scrambled eggs, sausages, yogurt and fruit. Dinner included a wine list of bottles priced at 2000-3000 euros.

The staff was pleasant. They maintained a professional attitude at all times. One waitress covered 50 plus breakfast covers. One bartender managed the evening shift, so the waiting time was sometimes a little longer.
Rooms

The room had a comfortable bed and period decor. No air conditioning or modern bathroom amenities were available. The room included a bottle of water. There was no mini-bar, tea, or coffee maker.
