The location was convenient. I found it easy to walk to many attractions from the hotel. The rooftop bar offered great views of the surrounding area! Carlos R provided very attentive service during my dinner. It made the meal enjoyable. The front desk staff allowed me to leave my bags after checkout. It was helpful as my flight was later.

My room was quite small. I struggled to open my suitcases fully. The shower leaked water from two sides! I had to request towels multiple times. The elevator wait times were long, especially during peak hours. It took about 15 minutes to get to my room.

helpful staff clean rooms

the staff was helpful. kidane, the bell attendant, was especially attentive. i found the rooms to be very very comfy and tidy.

the rooftop restaurant had considerable foot traffic, which congested the elevators. i could hear noise from the street, affecting my rest on the fifth floor. the thin walls and doors allowed noise from adjoining rooms.

the lobby decor was nice and well maintained. the rooftop bar provided great views both day and night. the hotel's location is excellent, being steps away from the washington monument. the hotel is also close to many important sites.

mixed feelings about the stay

brick wall expensive drink

the room i was given was not great! it faced a brick wall, just a few meters away. i wanted a better view and i learned i had to pay an extra $60 per night. also, i ordered a gin tonic at the bar, they served gin and soda water instead of tonic. they didn't even tell me and it cost $22.

I found the location superb! It is just steps from the White House. The hotel provided clean rooms. The rooms appear recently updated. I appreciated the new museum about the American dream that had just opened down the block.

It was nearly impossible to speak to a real person when calling the hotel. I wish the phone service was more responsive.
