Underwhelming stay. Issues with service and cleanliness

My visit was rather disappointing. the cleanliness was not up to par. I saw dust and what looked to be old stains in my room. also, the breakfast service was slow (it took over 30 minutes to get a simple order of eggs) and somewhat disorganized. (i overheard another guest complaining about a similar issue). these issues detracted from what could have been a relaxing experience.

The staff was very friendly and quite helpful, I thought. The hotel gardens had lovely views of the sea. Parking onsite was convenient and made arrivals simple. I found the location peaceful and relaxing, just what I wanted.

The hotel bar had limited ice because their ice machine was broken. I really wanted a proper drink.

The hotel breakfast offered an all round good selection, and I saw a lovely view of both garden and sea from where I sat. Dinner was presented beautifully and it tasted great too.

The building is excellent and I think it is fascinating. The lawn with tables and chairs was excellent with a wonderful sea view to look at when I had my tea. Parking was plentiful.

the room was quite excellent, particularly the bathroom. parking at the front of the hotel was a definite plus (very convenient).

i visited the bar and ordered cappuccinos, but they tasted quite bitter. the menu advertised a ciabatta with egg mayo and cress, but it came with onion instead (i cannot eat onion).
