lovely staff spacious room large bathroom abandoned car hot breakfast hotel grounds

the staff was really lovely (i always appreciate a friendly face). i stayed in the castle itself. the room was spacious and included a large bathroom. dinner in the castle was quite good.

the grounds were not well kept. i saw a car parked outside that seemed abandoned. there was no hot breakfast available.

excellent grounds cappuccino machine friendly staff unavailable restaurant slow service unfresh salad

The grounds were quite excellent. The hotel had comfortable decor. Breakfast was very good and I especially loved the cappuccino machine. The staff were friendly.

The sister hotel service was not so good. My meal was forgotten, but was lovely when it did arrive. Salad was not fresh.

The staff was lovely. Breakfast was really good.

I found some issues with the room. The mattress felt flat with no bounce. I felt itchy even after a shower because there was only one towel in the room, and the phone was not working so I had to go to reception to ask for another one.

A Weekend in a Scottish Castle

spacious room comfortable bed

The executive room was very spacious and had a comfortable bed. The bathroom included a jacuzzi bath, a shower, and double sinks. The hotel staff allowed us to have our Harris Hawk onsite, so we could fly him over the weekend. I am very grateful.

The driveway into the car park had many potholes. This made driving a bit uncomfortable. I think they should repair it.

The grounds were excellent. The hotel has cosy sitting spaces and a bar nestled in green, treed gardens. I really liked this feature of the hotel. Wifi is free and very good.

The bay windows overlook the grounds. Local walks are available along the Dornoch Firth waterway. The hotel is set in a magnificent environment. I was able to just sit and watch the world go by.

Breakfast was great. The hot food was cooked fresh to order. I particularly loved the cappuccino machine. There was also a huge selection on the breakfast buffet. I really enjoyed the breakfast.

The staff were very lovely and not overbearing. They were always around if you needed them. The staff were cute and friendly. I appreciate the help of the lovely girl who organised our taxi to the distillery.
