stained towelexpensive dinner
the room felt somewhat neglected. i found some questionable stains on the towels (yikes!) and, despite mentioning it to reception, the issue wasn't resolved. also, the dinner was pretty expensive for what i got, so i ended up feeling ripped off (i mean, who wants to pay a fortune for mediocre food?).

i adored this hotel! the gardens offered peaceful strolls (i was like i was in a fairytale). the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially at breakfast, they started our days right.
the patio area outside our room needed some attention, it looked a bit worn. also, i noticed a slight cigarette smell in the room upon arrival and cigarettes on the balcony, which wasn't ideal.

our beautiful king room offered ample space and comfort (it felt luxurious). the room includes two separate sinks and a rainfall shower. comfortable, characteristic rooms offer garden or lake views.

the breakfast was great (especially the pancakes!). the hotel served evening meals and after dinner drinks with great professionalism. some breakfast options may incur a supplement to the base price.

the hotel provides easy access for dog walks. the site has plenty of shower and toilet facilities and is in a beautiful woodland setting. new wooden steps lead down to the lake shore.

the hotel boasts excellent views of the garden. ullswater lake is a short distance away. the hotel is easy to find with clear signposts and also sends an email out with the directions.

I stayed in a dog-friendly room, and i found the staff cute to pets! there was a separate eating room for dogs and their ownerswith tables, settees, and a roaring fire. my dog loved the grounds, and the hotel provided easy access to the lake. i must give magic and his mum a mention. They were so cute and couldn't do enough for us and our fur baby.
the bathroom needed a little attention, though. there were some areas of patchy sealant in the shower and bath, a minor downside.

the staff were friendly, professional, and attentive! they could not have done more to. the reception, housekeeping, and bar staff were super friendly to us.

i had an excellent value dinner, bed and breakfast deal, and the food was very good. meals were tasty and professionally served. they also had fish and chips available one evening, great to take into the bar and eat.

the hotel has fine views onto the lake. it is also a perfect base for exploring the ullswater lake area. i took the local bus to pooley bridge and walked the ullswater way along the lakeshore.
