Seven original rooms, located in the former Harbourmaster's residence, offer views of the sea or harbour, including the beloved Madonna Suite in the attic. Spacious warehouse-converted rooms feature stylish bathrooms, lifting accessibility, and include the Aeron Queen Suite with panoramic views, spotlighted in the Visit Wales TV campaign.

Dining

Dining at the Harbourmaster showcases a menu rich in Cardigan Bay shellfish, Welsh lamb, and local organic vegetables. Guests can enjoy meals while watching sunsets and boats from their tables, with service every day except Christmas Day and Boxing Day. An extensive drink selection includes real ales, craft beers, and 18 wines available by the glass.

Self-Catering Options

The hotel offers a self-catering cottage meters away from the main building, featuring two en-suite double bedrooms and a small single room. The cottage provides harbour-facing views along with a kitchen and lounge area for guests who prefer more privacy. This option allows guests to experience the beauty of Aberaeron while maintaining their independence.

Average stay with noticeable issues.

tough bacon parking signage
the location was acceptable with proximity to local shops.
The breakfast was a disappointment. The bacon was too tough to cut. i also found the lack of clear signage for parking frustrating. there was only one space available at the front, and finding alternative parking around the back was difficult without better directions.

Perfect Quay Stay

excellent location fresh milk delicious eggs uninterrupted stay
The location is excellent. The room had mugs , not cups, a nice touch. I also liked the fresh milk supplied instead of UHT pots. Breakfast included delicious scrambled eggs. I appreciated the option to stay in the room on a rainy morning without interruption from the cleaning staff.
The room was a bit cold , as the window felt drafty during a rough night.
Rooms

The suite was spacious and well-appointed , with a king-size bed with premium linens and a separate seating area. The bathroom included complimentary toiletries and fluffy towels and the climate control system maintained a consistent temperature.
Location

The hotel is situated on the quay and offers convenient access to local shops and restaurants. The beach is within a short walk , providing opportunities for seaside strolls. Public transportation is easily accessible from the hotel entrance.

poor furnishing difficult window
The staff were attentive. They used the Welsh language alongside English. I appreciated this.
The room furnishings tried to be 'retro' but were poor. The window was difficult to open. It needed a piece of wood to prop it open. Breakfast lacked plant-based sausage or bacon.
