Underwhelming Experience, Issues with Room Allocation and Service

incorrect room poor communication

The hotel allows dogs. This was acceptable.

The room was not what we booked. We reserved a twin room based on photos on the website, but the allocated room had a double bed against the wall and a small room with a child's bed. Staff said they had only one real twin room. It was already booked.

musty smell smaller room

the room was quite clean and decently decorated, acceptable.

Upon arrival, i was given a smaller room than i booked. It was in a separate building, no less. this made carrying luggage a real treat. even worse, the carpet had a musty smell, quite unpleasant really.. it was not the experience i had hoped for.

the staff were cute and the room was acceptable.

i found the room smelled really musty. the floors were not clean at all, either. i did not feel comfortable in the room at all as the smell was so overpowering for me, it was unpleasant.

solid stay

ample space coffee machine excellent food

the four poster double room provided ample space. it had a large bed i found comfortable. tea and coffee making facilities was available along with a pod coffee machine. ample parking to the hotel rear. the food i ate was excellent.

staff kept us updated. the staff was friendly and helpful. they promptly consulted her manager, also helpful at working a solution. all the staff were amazing and very attentative from start to finish.

Mixed feelings about this stay

high charge unsafe room

The breakfast service presented an issue. I was charged a full adult price for my baby's porridge. This seemed excessive, even when I questioned the charge and was told that was their policy. I also found that upon arrival after 11pm, the entire place was closed and deserted. I eventually found a note directing me to an unlocked room.

friendly atmosphere stylish room extra touches

The staff was very friendly. The room was very clean and stylish. I noticed extra touches like hot chocolate and chocolate bars. IT really felt worth the money, especially given my extensive travel experience.

My room was spacious and comfortable. The layout was thoughtfully designed with nice little touches. The room decor features a horse-racing theme, giving it a distinctive character. There were MANY hooks for hanging things.

The staff could not do enough for us. They were always courteous and helpful. They helped with luggage from our bikes to our rooms. I felt VERY welcomed.
