The local bus service operates to Port Douglas for a fee of $10 per person, one way. It requires pre-booking at least an hour before the desired pickup time. Pickup times from Thala are at 09:30, 12:00, 15:30, 18:30, while return times are scheduled for 12:00, 15:00, 18:00, and 21:00.
