the staff were friendly. the pub had a lively atmosphere. the food was delicious!!! beds were comfy. staff was very efficient, and service was quick on a busy day.

the decor in the room was tatty. it desperately needed an upgrade.

i found convenient on-site parking. the breakfast included tasty porridge. i was comfortable in the superb bed. the staff assisted me very well because of my disability.

the food service ended early at 8:30 pm. guests should arrive early to order meals. this can be inconvenient for late arrivals.

a good stay!

lovely welcome handy location free car park delicious burger

The welcome was very lovely, i immediately liked the ambience of this hotel. the location is very handy for strolling through the town. the free car park around back of hotel is a great benefit. I easily navigated to it using the provided directions. i was so glad i booked for dinner, as the wagyu burger was delicious!!!

i noticed the pillows were a bit uncomfortable.

The staff were really helpful and approachable. I appreciated their assistance throughout my stay. the breakfast service was excellent. It was freshly cooked. staff even helped me carry our bags to our room.

the twin room overlooked the courtyard at the rear of the hotel. the room was very nice and fit for two people. the room i stayed in had a lovely big bathroom with a bath and a shower.

The hotel is very handy for strolling through the town. ryedale auctions is about a 10-minute walk away. This location was very convenient for me. parking is available on site, i couldn't ask for more.

There is a free car park around back of the hotel, accessible by driving through the pay car park next to the hotel. a seperate dinning area is available, i could bring my dog. the evening meal was excellent. There was a deal on the wagyu burger.

broken tap no repair

the breakfast was reasonable , with a decent selection of items.

the cold tap in the ensuite did not work , and it clearly had not worked for some time. i reported it to reception , and they delivered a bottle of water. they assured me the tap would be fixed the next day , but no one came, and the tap remained broken.

handy parking helpful staff

I found a handy free car park around back of the hotel. Access required driving through the pay carpark next to the hotel, then turning left onto the road. Another left at the junction, followed by a final left led into the hotel park. Staff proved helpful and approachable .

The snug was directly below my room and allowed noise from locals until closing time. Closing off that space after 9pm might benefit overnight guests.

The evening meal was excellent, with a deal on the wagyu burger or steak. Both meals arrived piping hot, were delicious, and filling. Breakfast consisted of a nicely done full English.

the location was convenient. parking was available behind the building. i appreciated the home-cooked dinner, it was quite delicious.

the room needed a bit of updating, specifically the decor.
