Aquatio Cave Luxury Hotel & Spa, Matera

Aquatio Cave Luxury Hotel & SPA offers 35 rooms and suites, ranging from 18 to 45 square meters. Each room beautifully replicates ancient caves carved into tuff or masonry with wooden roofs. The design was created by renowned architect Simone Micheli, combining historical architecture with modern technology.

The wellness center spans 500 square meters and includes a heated swimming pool carved into natural rock. Guests can experience treatments inspired by the hotel's rich historical context. This space utilizes the underground rooms dating back to the 9th century, creating a unique spa environment.

Dining at Aquatio takes place in a restaurant set in arches dating back to the 13th century. The menu focuses on the authentic flavors of Basilicata, with both indoor and outdoor seating available. The restaurant accommodates 30 guests, and can expand to 60 for events.

Aquatio provides a meeting room for up to 40 attendees, equipped with modern technology for remote connections and video conferences. The Convivium Room is designed to enhance the meeting experience with its carved tuff structure. This space also allows for flexible arrangements in accordance with event needs.

Situated in the Sassi district of Matera, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the hotel gives guests direct access to one of the oldest cities in the world.
