Really good Stay in a Refurbished Mansion

grand mansionhelpful staffinspired breakfast
My stay offered a great conclusion to touring. The service proved excellent. The breakfast featured an inspired a la carte menu, quite unlike typical buffets. I especially appreciated its location near the water, yet just outside town. I wish i could have stayed longer for a visit to sintra.
The minibar options felt limited compared to other hotels I have visited. This did not detract greatly from my overall experience.

The hotel features a rooftop pool. It is small yet offers a place to relax. There is a historic building with tasteful decor and furnishings. These create a unique atmosphere .
Dining

The hotel's art restaurant has an excellent kitchen. It creates surprising combinations on the plate. Table service is available with plenty of options. Refills are available on request.

loud street noiseslow service
my stay wasn't without its issues. the noise at night was difficult to ignore. it seemed the soundproofing wasn't great, so street noise was very noticeable. i also felt the service was a little slow at times, particularly when i requested something for my room, it took longer than i expected.

the staff provided a beautiful hotel tour upon arrival. they explained the concept behind the hotel, specifically the blend of art and history. the daily breakfast was superb in every way. a server looked with fresh-baked gluten-free bread for my friend. this was totally unexpected and thoughtful.
I observed noise from outside in the mornings. It was a minor disturbance.

The gym was a joke. It had one treadmill. also, the soundproofing wasn't great. i could hear everything from the hallway. breakfast was decent but the fruit selection felt limited for a hotel of this standard. we loved the location, but these issues definitely detracted from the experience.
